War against spam

The war against spam and spammers continues unabated. With lame-duck websites offering email as well as so-called spam filters, it is not difficult to imagine what the quality of such mailboxes is.
Rediff.com is a popular Indian website. The news is good but everything else about it sucks. The day is not very far off when it might change in to a porn site. The irritating popups from shady ad networks, flashing banners, mass emails in the mailboxes, lousy customer service, regulation of comments on articles, all make me wonder if it operates with the blessings of an authoritarian regime. How difficult is it to understand that its website users hate all that stuff?
I stopped visiting Indiatimes.com for similar reasons. We need to be more proactive to see results. Shun a website that irritates you. Make that known on your blog, or include that in your signature. The world is more networked today than it has ever been before.
Will continue to do reviews on more spammy websites in the days to come.
