X-RayPC
X-RayPC is a nifty little tool that merges the functionality of HijackThis! and the advantage of a regularly updated online database. The program requires no installation and the download is a tiny 331 kb zip file. After a scan, the results are automatically matched with the database and an icon next to each entry tells you if each of the running processes are safe or are undetermined.
This program is a step up from HijackThis! which leaves the decision to the discretion of the user who could be a novice in most cases.
What it does:
Lists active processes, start-up programs, BHOs, Download Program files, IE Extension Plug-ins. Shows the file size and MD5 of files. Kills running processes, deletes in-use files, and detects suspicious programs.
The download file is located at the bottom of this page
