Identity Theft
Protect yourself against ID Theft. Millions of people across the world fall prey to this menace. It is more compounded in countries like the United States as well as Western Europe where identity-related information could be used by anyone to make illegitimate gains. The problem is spreading in Asia and other parts of the world as well because of the impact of mobile banking and the spread of computers and availability of internet in the most remote places.
If you live in the United States, you could request a Credit Freeze on your records with all the three credit bureaus. No one other than existing lenders can check your credit file without your permission. You could temporarily lift the freeze to make some credit related transactions and refreeze the record again. This would surely frustrate ID thieves. This service is either free or requires a small fee based on where you live. Need more information?
